Nehayan Bin Zayed: “The Union Covenant” Instills Values in the Hearts of Generations

Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works, emphasized that the celebration of “Union Day” marks a monumental historical occasion and key moments in the life of our beloved nation, the United Arab Emirates. It was a time when the founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace, along with his fellow leaders, came together to sign the union document and establish the Constitution of the UAE.

He further stated that the directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to celebrate this significant day reflect the wisdom of our esteemed leadership and its commitment to instilling and reinforcing the values of unity in the hearts of current and future generations.

This day fosters solidarity among citizens and deepens the sense of pride, belonging, and responsibility to renew the determination to continue the journey of building and developing towards a more prosperous and advanced future under the banner of our cherished nation.

Sheikh Nahyan explained that “Union Day” and “National Day” are integral to our national identity and collective consciousness. Together, they narrate the success story of a country founded on determination, unity, and strong values, evolving from its inception to its advancement. Sustained planning, hard work, and belief in our capabilities outline a steadfast vision aimed at achieving great ambitions and ensuring ongoing accomplishments.

Concluding his remarks, Sheikh Nahyan stated, “On this national occasion, which reignites feelings of pride and honor for the Emirati people’s cherished homeland and its pioneering development journey, it reinforces the values of unity and solidarity, driving us to work towards a better and more prosperous future for the UAE.” He reaffirmed our loyalty and support for our wise leadership and our unwavering commitment to working diligently to complete the comprehensive development of the nation, striving to achieve the aspirations of an ambitious country that the founding fathers began building 54 years ago.
