The record speed was achieved by combining FR1 bands at 2100MHz and C-band, along with uplink 3Tx (three transmission antennas) on commercial Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) at a live 5G site. As reported by WAM, this deployment adheres to the standards set by 3GPP Release 17.

This exceptional uplink speed marks a pivotal moment in 5G-Advanced, enhancing the performance of uplink-intensive applications. By capitalizing on FR1 band aggregation and state-of-the-art uplink technology, e& UAE sets a new global standard in 5G performance.

Abdulrahman Al Humaidan, Vice President of Fixed Access Network at e& UAE, remarked: “The world-record 600Mbps uplink speed achieved by e& UAE is a strategic leap, initiating a new era of rapid, uplink-focused digital innovation. This is not merely a technological breakthrough but a foundation for transforming the digital realm, fortifying the UAE’s position as a global technology leader.”

Revolutionizing Enterprise and Intelligent Infrastructure

The 600Mbps uplink ushers in enhanced connectivity, improving uplink-centric applications across various sectors. Businesses can now facilitate real-time sensor data uploads in smart factories and logistics centers, advancing AI-centric automation and predictive analysis.

Cloud-based collaboration will gain from this, allowing instant uploads for 3D modeling, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) processes, propelling the next stage of digital innovation.

Applications focused on uplink solutions, such as live video analytics, smart city surveillance, and drone monitoring, will flourish with instantaneous data uploads crucial for mission-critical decisions.

Enhancing Consumer Experiences in a 5G-Advanced Landscape

For individual users, this technological advancement will drastically shift digital lifestyles—allowing content creators to upload 8K videos and broadcast immersive content on platforms like YouTube and TikTok swiftly.

Gamers will experience lag-free cloud gaming, and smart homes will instantly upload high-definition footage and IoT data, boosting efficiency and responsiveness.

Services like virtual event hosting and user-generated AR content will expand, providing faster, richer, and more immersive digital experiences.

Utilizing 3GPP Release 17, this deployment enhances mobile broadband (eMBB) and ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), establishing a basis for scalable, energy-efficient 5G networks.

With the success of this deployment on a commercial CPE and an active 5G site, e& UAE has exemplified the transition from vision to reality. By optimizing FR1 2100MHz and C-band with Uplink 3Tx, the company is facilitating the path to an extensively connected future.

As these CPEs become more widespread, e& will be primed to provide enhanced connectivity for both consumers and businesses.
