Ajman Transport Authority Introduces Innovative Smart Taxi Service

Ajman Transport Authority has introduced an innovative smart taxi-hailing service, collaborating with the Yango application, part of the global technology firm Yango Group. This application enables users to book and monitor their taxi rides in real-time, aligning with Ajman’s broader objectives for digital advancement and smart city initiatives.

The goal of this initiative is to improve transportation options within the emirate by delivering a smooth, technology-enhanced travel experience. The Yango application boasts features such as real-time tracking of vehicles, digital payment capabilities, and detailed booking information—simplifying travel for both residents and tourists in Ajman.

Eng. Sami Ali Al Jallaf, the Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Agency, noted that this new service exemplifies the Authority’s dedication to implementing sustainable and intelligent transport solutions that cater to community needs.

“This collaboration with Yango aligns with our vision of advancing Ajman’s smart city strategy through the provision of modern, adaptive transportation services,” stated Al Jallaf. “It also reinforces our partnership with the private sector while empowering local transport providers with innovative solutions.”

The service rollout follows the signing of a formal agreement between the Authority and Yango Group to operate smart taxis and integrate them within Ajman’s digital framework. This initiative aims to enhance customer satisfaction and improve the quality of life for individuals in the emirate.

Al Jallaf further mentioned that the Authority is actively working on enhancing and expanding its digital taxi reservation systems, emphasizing that the integration of Yango contributes to the overarching goal of developing a comprehensive, technology-driven transportation network.

Islam Abdul Karim, Regional Head of Yango Group Middle East, stated, “We are excited to collaborate with Ajman Transport Authority, whose dedication to establishing a reliable and efficient network is commendable. Our technology will enhance accessibility to transportation for residents and visitors alike.”
