Arthur D. Little names new insurance specialist as partner in Riyadh

Arthur D. Little (ADL) has welcomed Dr. Goetz Kuras as a partner in its Financial Services (FS) division. Stationed in Riyadh, Dr. Kuras will concentrate on sectors including insurance, pensions, and social security, assisting clients in the Middle East and internationally. He arrives with over 20 years of diverse experience in executive roles, regulatory duties, and consulting projects.

Previously, Dr. Kuras acted as a senior advisor to the Governor of the General Organization of Social Insurance (GOSI) in Saudi Arabia, where he facilitated the strategic and operational overhaul of GOSI and collaborated with the board and CEO of the newly established Insurance Authority to develop the National Insurance Strategy.

His extensive leadership experience includes positions such as CEO of Medgulf, and he has been a board director in an InsurTech company. On the consulting front, he worked at McKinsey and subsequently at Oliver Wyman, where he spearheaded the Insurance practice in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and later in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). His primary expertise encompasses transformation, strategy, and innovation within the insurance, pensions, and social security landscape.

Martin Rauchenwald, managing partner at ADL, remarked: “The Middle Eastern insurance landscape is rapidly changing, shaped by digitalization, AI, and innovation, resulting in a more dynamic and open ecosystem. Concurrently, significant reforms of the pension and social security systems are under consideration by policymakers. Goetz’s extensive experience and insights place him in an ideal position to assist clients in navigating transformations and leveraging opportunities in this evolving market.”

Dr. Goetz Kuras expressed: “The barriers between insurance and other industries are fading. This evolution necessitates fresh strategies from market participants, newcomers, and regulators alike. I am excited to collaborate with ADL’s growing financial services team and colleagues in other fields where insurance enhances current value propositions, aiming to broaden our client base and influence within these essential sectors that contribute to thriving societies and economies.”

Dr. Kuras earned his PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Cambridge (UK), in addition to holding Master’s degrees from Florida State University (US) and the University of Graz (Austria).
