Bombardier Plans to Launch New Service Center in Abu Dhabi

Bombardier, the Canadian manufacturer of business jets, has revealed plans for a new service facility at Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi.

This facility marks a significant collaboration with Abu Dhabi Airports, utilizing their expertise and dedication to aviation excellence. The new location replaces the previously announced site at Abu Dhabi International Airport made in 2022.

Once fully operational, the new OEM service center is projected to generate around 100 aerospace jobs in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Construction is expected to begin in the first half of 2025, with the facility becoming operational in the latter half of 2026.

“We are excited to unveil our Abu Dhabi Service facility’s new location at the vibrant Al Bateen Executive Airport,” stated Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President of Aftermarket Services and Strategy. “This site is strategically integrated with our aftermarket objectives and aligns perfectly with the needs of our valued customers. Our clientele demands exceptional service regardless of their location, and this new facility in a bustling financial center will guarantee that we continue to provide the highest level of service.”

“We are pleased to welcome Bombardier’s new service facility to Al Bateen Executive Airport, furthering our successful partnership,” expressed Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports. “This initiative is strategically consistent with the airport’s strong emphasis on business aviation, providing a seamless and effective experience for Bombardier’s customers. This facility will enhance Abu Dhabi’s status as a key aviation hub and will significantly contribute to the region’s economic development. We are optimistic that this collaboration will result in shared success for both Bombardier and Abu Dhabi Airports.”

The newly positioned Abu Dhabi Service Facility, encompassing around 120,000 sq. ft., will include a 55,000 sq. ft. hangar, a parts depot, and a comprehensive range of maintenance services, covering both scheduled and unscheduled heavy maintenance, aircraft modifications, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) services.

This facility will support Bombardier’s Global 7500 aircraft, in addition to the upcoming Global 8000, heralding a new era for the company with its expected entry into service in the latter half of 2025. It aims to provide an exceptional service solution for Bombardier’s customers in the region and worldwide across the Learjet, Challenger, and Global aircraft families.

The Abu Dhabi Service facility enhances Bombardier’s existing service network in the UAE. The company’s Dubai Line Maintenance station offers Learjet, Challenger, and Global customers quick and efficient Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support, alongside general line maintenance services.

Bombardier sees promising opportunities in the business jet sector moving forward. “With the establishment of the new Bombardier Service Centre in Abu Dhabi, we are well-prepared to cater to our customers in the Middle East. Al Bateen Executive Airport was chosen as the site for our new service facility due to its significance as a hub for our business aircraft in the region. Its close proximity to the financial center of Abu Dhabi makes it an ideal location for Bombardier’s discerning business aviation clients,” a spokesperson indicated.

This new facility is an enhancement to Bombardier’s existing service network in the area. The company also operates a Line Maintenance Station at Al Maktoum International Airport, which provides Global, Challenger, and Learjet clients with timely and efficient Aircraft on Ground (AOG) services, along with general maintenance options. This facility will further strengthen our regional presence, offering customers prompt and effective support and service solutions.
