BoxCommerce, a South African startup facilitating streamlined online sales through a user-friendly platform tailored for local enterprises, has officially commenced operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Established in 2019, BoxCommerce is an e-commerce solution aimed at empowering small and medium businesses in developing markets. It provides a wide array of tools for setting up online stores, managing stock, processing transactions, and handling distribution logistics.
The platform enables sales through various channels, including websites, social media platforms, and online marketplaces, thereby simplifying customer outreach for merchants. Following its successful launches in Kenya and Indonesia, BoxCommerce is now introducing its services targeted at SMEs in the UAE.
“The UAE presents a vital market opportunity for BoxCommerce,” stated Craig Mcleod, the CEO and founder of the company. “With mobile commerce leading the way and over 70% of the population engaging in online shopping, the country’s e-commerce sector is projected to reach AED 48 billion by 2028. Our platform is structured to assist local businesses in capitalizing on this rapid expansion.”
