On Friday, China announced it would implement necessary actions to safeguard the legitimate rights of its businesses and citizens in light of U.S. sanctions targeting Iran’s oil trade, which specifically impacted a Chinese refinery.
Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the foreign ministry, expressed during a routine press briefing that China calls on the United States to refrain from imposing sanctions, emphasizing the commitment to preserving its energy security.
The recent sanctions affect approximately 100 individuals, organizations, and vessels, including a Chinese independent refinery and terminal, involved in facilitating Iran’s oil and petrochemical commerce.
