Citi Launches AI Suite to Enhance Efficiency and Client Support in MEA

Citi has announced the deployment of its state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies across its operations in the UAE as well as the broader Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, emphasizing the bank’s dedication to technological advancement and digital evolution.

“The introduction of our AI tools in the UAE and MEA exemplifies Citi’s steadfast resolve to adopt innovative technologies that enhance service for our clients and empower our workforce,” remarked Maria Ivanova, who oversees banking in the UAE and North Africa & Levant sub-cluster. “These innovations are expected to enhance our productivity significantly while ushering in a new era of innovation and client-focused solutions in the area.”

During a launch event in Dubai, Shamsa Al-Falasi, the country officer for Citi in the UAE, as well as the banking head and CEO of Citibank N.A. in the UAE, stated, “The rollout of these advanced AI tools represents a crucial milestone for our operations within the UAE. This technology is set to vastly improve our internal processes and efficiency, empowering our teams to provide outstanding client service and fostering innovation that specifically meets the evolving demands of the UAE market. We aim to use these advanced solutions to promote growth and align with the nation’s ambitions for a digital future.”

Citi’s proprietary AI technology is now accessible to approximately 175,000 employees across 80 different jurisdictions globally. In the MEA region, these tools have been implemented across more than 20 jurisdictions, demonstrating Citi’s commitment to equipping its workforce with advanced solutions that enhance efficiency and elevate the standards of service delivery.

The AI suite is crafted to optimize workflows, automate routine tasks, and derive insights from extensive data sets, allowing employees to concentrate on strategic objectives and high-impact initiatives. The implementation of these tools will also improve client interactions by facilitating quicker, more personalized, and effective communication, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience throughout the region.
