Discover Dubai Metro’s Blue Line: Inside the Tallest Metro Station on Earth

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who serves as the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and is the Ruler of Dubai, has sanctioned the design for what will be the globe’s highest metro station, rising 74 meters at Emaar Properties Station.

A Symbol of Growth

The new station, a key part of the Dubai Metro Blue Line, represents the emirate’s goals to merge cutting-edge design with city development, as reported by Dubai’s media representatives.

With an area stretching over 11,000 square meters, the station is poised to accommodate 160,000 individuals daily, with projected daily users surpassing 70,000 by the year 2040.

Once the Blue Line is completed, it will broaden Dubai’s railway system to encompass 131 kilometers, serving 78 stations with a fleet of 168 trains. Emaar Properties Station will serve a crucial role, providing access to roughly 40,000 residents in the Dubai Creek Harbour area and its increasing visitor count.

The station, designated as both a transportation hub and architectural marvel, aligns with Dubai’s vision of being a “Gateway to the Future.”

Remarkable Design and City Integration

Standing at 74 meters, the station provides an impressive first impression for passengers. Its towering facade is seamlessly incorporated into the urban environment. A distinctive architectural aperture allows the entry of natural light, resulting in a bright and welcoming interior throughout the day.

At night, an expertly configured lighting system turns the station into a glowing landmark. This play of light reinforces its role as a beacon towards Dubai’s future.

The station is not only a transit point but is projected to become a significant location, with integrated commercial and investment prospects.

Interior Quality and Environmental Considerations

Inside, the station prioritizes comfort, style, and sturdiness. The tall walls, adorned in warm, natural hues and textures, are reminiscent of the UAE’s landscapes, fostering a welcoming environment. Durable materials like Jura limestone and bronze metal panels are used, along with granite flooring.

Glass ceiling panels in both the lobby and platform areas invite natural light, increasing openness and enhancing the travel experience. The blend of stone, metal, and glass creates a modern space that respects tradition while embracing progress.

All materials were chosen for their sustainability and resilience to Dubai’s climate. The construction meets high environmental standards focused on durability and energy efficiency.

The structure is designed to accommodate daily transit needs while setting a high standard for urban design that anticipates climate challenges.

Emaar’s Naming Rights

Emaar has obtained the naming rights for the station for a decade starting in 2029, as announced during the unveiling event.

This alliance exemplifies the strengthening bond between urban development and the city’s transportation infrastructure. Emaar Properties Station is expected to heighten the brand’s influence throughout Dubai, aiding the city’s broader urban evolution.

Recognized as the tallest metro station worldwide, Emaar Properties Station stands as an emblem of architectural ambition, connectivity, and innovation— a true icon on Dubai’s skyline and a testament to its dedication to building future-oriented cities.
