Emirates and Bahamasair have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to create an interline partnership, aimed at facilitating travel for passengers journeying to The Bahamas through Emirates’ gateways in Miami and Orlando.
This agreement enables Emirates customers to reserve single-ticket itineraries that connect their flights from Dubai to Bahamasair-operated routes to Nassau, Freeport, or San Salvador in Florida.
Travelers will also enjoy generous baggage allowances when flying with both airlines.
“We are delighted to form an interline partnership with Bahamasair to widen our footprint to new and attractive destinations,” stated Adnan Kazim, the deputy president and CCO of Emirates. “This arrangement provides our customers the convenience of travelling from Florida to The Bahamas with competitive fares and an effortless travel experience.”
This interline agreement represents Emirates’ initial venture into the Bahamian market, bolstering its presence within the Caribbean. It is also part of a broader initiative launched in conjunction with The Bahamas’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs to position the island as a tourist destination within Emirates’ worldwide network.
Emirates-Bahamasair collaboration to enhance accessibility and foster tourism growth
Bahamasair, the national airline of The Bahamas, views this collaboration as a strategic advantage to boost its global visibility.
“This partnership greatly enhances Bahamasair’s international profile and grants us access to invaluable expertise and new markets,” said Tracy Cooper, Managing Director of Bahamasair. “Aligning with one of the most reputable airlines in the world amplifies our capabilities and sets the foundation for ongoing international growth.”
Under the MoU, the two airlines have also committed to investigate opportunities for cargo collaboration and possible partnerships in frequent flyer programs.
Currently, Emirates operates daily flights to Miami utilizing its Boeing 777 aircraft and offers five weekly services to Orlando.
