G42, a technology and artificial intelligence organization based in Abu Dhabi, has announced the opening of G42 Europe & UK, a new office located in London.
This new branch will concentrate on delivering customized AI solutions to private enterprises and will collaborate with governments and industry players to build essential AI infrastructure throughout the UK and Europe.
G42 Europe & UK will be co-led by technology experts: Omar Mir, an international board member at World Wide Technology, and Marty Edelman, the group’s general counsel.
With over 20 years of experience in the global technology sector, Mir has directed projects involving 5G, edge computing, cloud services, and AI across various regions, including the UK, Europe, the US, and the Middle East.
Edelman is responsible for overseeing G42’s legal strategies and compliance, playing an essential role in guiding the organization’s governance amid its expansion into new territories.
Utilizing G42’s Knowledge
“Our aim is to leverage G42’s established AI expertise and adapt it for businesses in Europe and the UK—driving digital transformation, boosting competitiveness, and creating resilient, sovereign AI infrastructure with public and private partners,” stated Omar Mir, co-chair of G42 Europe & UK.
Co-chair Marty Edelman remarked, “The UK and Europe represent a vibrant market with substantial potential for AI-driven advancements. By setting up a dedicated center in London, we enhance our capability to deliver comprehensive regulatory insights and top-tier technological solutions to our clients.”
The formation of this new branch follows G42’s growing involvement in Europe, highlighted by recent projects related to data centers and computing clusters in France and Italy, alongside rising interest from other countries in the region.
G42 Europe and UK intends to utilize G42’s global network of supercomputing facilities, data centers, and AI resources. Its ambition is to offer scalable, secure, and comprehensive AI solutions that range from strategic consultancy and model development to infrastructure implementation and managed services.
These offerings will focus on industries such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and energy. The new subsidiary will also engage with national and regional governments to promote data sovereignty initiatives and facilitate the rollout of next-generation AI infrastructure.
