On May 28, 2025, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, inaugurated the UAE Future 50 – a list recognizing promising Emirati companies. This initiative, a collaboration between the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Government Development and Future Office, took place at the Emirates Towers in Dubai.

The UAE Future 50 list is part of the Riyada entrepreneurship framework, aiming to enhance the startup ecosystem and innovation in the country. It highlights top Emirati-led firms across 15 crucial sectors for the economy of the future, including fintech, healthtech, edtech, agritech, space, renewable energy, and cybersecurity.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the UAE leadership’s dedication to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering a supportive environment for startups in sectors focused on the future. He remarked that Emirati innovators significantly contribute to economic diversification, develop industries aligned with future trends, and bolster the country’s competitiveness globally—all in line with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision.

He also pointed out the importance of entrepreneurs in transforming innovative concepts into successful businesses, which in turn foster growth and diversification within the UAE’s dynamic economy. He acknowledged the vital role of inspiring young individuals to venture into entrepreneurship, praising initiatives that facilitate and boost entrepreneurial success.

The event was attended by high-profile officials including Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; and H.E. Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, the Minister of State for Government Development and the Future.

H.E. Al Roumi stressed the UAE’s leading position in future readiness, attributing it to a robust innovation ecosystem and investment in local talent. She stated that the ‘UAE Future 50’ highlights Emirati entrepreneurs who are transforming concepts into innovative businesses, aiding the government’s mission to prepare the economy for upcoming challenges. She added that these startups, in collaboration with major firms, will enhance growth in key sectors and strengthen the UAE’s competitive edge globally.

Abdullah Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, noted the essential role of innovative businesses and Emirati skills in facilitating the UAE’s shift towards future industries and elevating its global profile. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering an environment that promotes sustainable expansion and bolsters the national economy.

The initiative aims to spotlight promising Emirati startups in forward-looking economic sectors by offering tailored support to accelerate their growth, acknowledging entrepreneurial achievements, and honoring Emirati innovators. Furthermore, it aspires to cultivate a robust entrepreneurial culture and motivate the upcoming generation of national talent.

The launch of the ‘UAE Future 50’ was celebrated at a dedicated event featuring an insightful discussion led by Emirati entrepreneur Faisal Belhoul, who is also a Dubai Chambers Board Member. He shared valuable insights into the building blocks of entrepreneurial success and the essential part entrepreneurs play in shaping the future economy.

The gathering brought together aspiring entrepreneurs, investors, representatives from investment funds, incubators, accelerators, family businesses, and leading enterprises. It also featured an exhibition of the selected startups, allowing attendees to explore their innovative ideas, notable achievements, and growth trajectories.

UAE startups have shown substantial growth potential, significantly contributing to job creation, economic diversification, and national development goals. The companies were specifically chosen for their capability to enhance the competitiveness of the future economy, reflecting the country’s vision driven by innovation.

The ‘UAE Future 50’ initiative is an extension of the Future 100 program, launched by the Government Development and Future Office in partnership with the Ministry of Economy. This program annually highlights top emerging firms driving future-focused sectors and bolsters the UAE’s global position in innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment. By recognizing and empowering high-potential businesses, Future 100 plays a crucial role in developing a resilient, diversified, and globally competitive economy.
