Rising figures and strategic initiatives

As reported by WAM, hotel occupancy in the UAE has surged to between 60% and 70% during July and the early part of August, indicating a notable increase in demand. This growth is attributed to the government’s initiatives aimed at developing smart tourism infrastructure, enhancing visitor experiences, and branding the UAE as a secure and welcoming destination.

Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan noted the country’s “exceptional summer tourism season,” attributing this success to the UAE’s modern infrastructure, cultural openness, and outstanding public services which enhance its appeal on the global stage.

He also linked these advancements to the vision established by the UAE leadership, particularly under the guidance of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose policies focus on innovation, security, and enhancing quality of life for both citizens and visitors.

A festival of experiences

This summer, cities across the UAE are alive with events that blend tradition with modern experiences. Family-friendly festivals, shopping events, and cultural exhibitions have become significant attractions for both regional and international visitors.

In Abu Dhabi, highlights included the 21st Liwa Dates Festival that saw almost 144,685 attendees, as well as the Historic Dalma Race Festival and the 6th IMMAF Youth World Championships, featuring over 1,000 athletes from 60 different nations.

Dubai’s Summer Surprises, ongoing until August 31, showcases a dynamic variety of shopping, raffles, entertainment, and live performances, appealing to people of all ages and backgrounds.

At the same time, Sharjah’s Summer Promotions have invigorated the season, drawing both residents and visitors with family-oriented events and retail experiences that highlight the emirate’s cultural essence.

Prioritizing safety

One of the key strengths of the UAE’s tourism sector is its unwavering commitment to safety and public health. The nation consistently ranks high in international benchmarks for personal security and community satisfaction, which reassures families and travelers, encouraging longer stays and repeat visits.

Sheikh Dr. Saeed emphasized that the UAE’s attractiveness rests on its ability to provide peace of mind. “Whether it’s nightlife or intercity journeys, the sense of safety is unparalleled,” he remarked. “It’s a place where individuals from diverse cultures feel welcomed, respected, and secure.”

This feeling of safety is bolstered by advanced infrastructure, efficient public services, and smooth connectivity throughout the emirates.

A vision for sustainable tourism

The UAE’s current summer tourism success is aligned with its larger commitment to sustainable development. Authorities are consistently investing in smart technologies, environmentally friendly initiatives, and inclusive programs to ensure the long-term growth of tourism that benefits both the economy and society.

With its rich mixture of heritage, innovation, and hospitality, the UAE continues to demonstrate that even during the hottest months, memorable experiences can flourish.
