Air India and Indigo have both declared that they will run special flights on April 23 in response to a terrorist attack in Kashmir.
On Tuesday afternoon, armed assailants targeted tourists in Kashmir, resulting in 26 fatalities and injuring more than a dozen individuals. This attack, which occurred in Pahalgam, has drawn widespread international denunciation, with the UAE among the nations vehemently condemning such brutal acts.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has curtailed his visit to Saudi Arabia, returning to India ahead of schedule on Wednesday to convene with senior security officials upon his arrival, as indicated by a government source. In light of one of the most lethal assaults in the region in recent times, India has initiated a search for the perpetrators.
Travelers who booked their tickets before April 22 will benefit from extended waivers for travel until April 30, according to Indigo’s announcement. The airlines will operate one special flight each from Delhi and Mumbai to and from Srinagar on April 23.
Air India has similarly planned two flights on the same day.
To ensure affordability, Air India has capped fares on these routes. Any higher prices displayed on booking platforms may reflect multi-stop itineraries or premium cabin options. Additionally, the airline has stated it will provide complimentary rescheduling and full refunds for cancellations for passengers with confirmed bookings until April 30 on these routes. All other flights to and from Srinagar will continue as per their regular schedules.
