The notable increase in investment was paralleled by a significant rise in new project developments, with 74 new initiatives launched in the first half of 2025, reflecting a 57 percent increase from 47 projects in the same timeframe of 2024. This growth is particularly advantageous for Sharjah’s production and service sectors, aligning with the emirate’s goal of fostering a high-value, knowledge-driven economy.
The job market also saw impressive growth, introducing 2,578 new positions—a 45 percent rise from the 1,779 jobs created in the first half of 2024. This uptick in employment opportunities enhances consumer purchasing power, bolstering local demand and fostering further investments, especially from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Strategic Influence Behind Economic Growth
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), credited the emirate’s robust FDI performance to the visionary leadership of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
“These outstanding results reinforce Sharjah’s standing as a secure and appealing investment location,” Al Owais stated. “The Sharjah Chamber will persist in its efforts to support investors, promote varied opportunities, and cultivate strategic collaborations with global entities to attract even more capital into the region.”
Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), emphasized the importance of this expansion. “A 361 percent rise in capital investment and a 57 percent increase in projects within just six months symbolize substantial progress. This translates into more jobs, more robust industries, and sustainable value creation for our communities,” he remarked.
Al Qaseer acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah) in aligning international capital with the emirate’s long-term aspirations related to talent development, industrial diversification, and sustainability.

Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), noted that the FDI surge reflects the strength of Sharjah’s economic fundamentals and its commitment to excellence across various business sectors.
“This momentum directly supports Sharjah’s vision for smart and sustainable economic growth,” he remarked, adding that the Department is committed to enhancing its initiatives in line with the emirate’s broader growth strategy.
