ISPOR UAE Chapter Partners with AbbVie to Foster Healthcare Progress

The ISPOR UAE Chapter, a prominent local entity affiliated with a leading global organization focused on health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), alongside AbbVie, a renowned international biopharmaceutical firm, has expressed their intention to explore collaborative initiatives aimed at improving healthcare outcomes in the United Arab Emirates. This intention was formalized through a Letter of Intent (LOI) signed during the Abu Dhabi Global Health Week, attended by key representatives from both organizations.

### Key Areas of Collaboration

The LOI represents a shared commitment to advancing work in significant areas such as Health Technology Assessment (HTA), policy development, and research along with evidence generation. By joining forces, the ISPOR UAE Chapter and AbbVie plan to utilize the chapter’s vast network and insights in HEOR alongside AbbVie’s scientific proficiency to bolster a more effective and evidence-based healthcare framework in the UAE.

### Statements from Leadership

Prof. Nadia Al Mazrouei, President of the ISPOR UAE Chapter, remarked, “We are devoted to promoting excellence in health economics and outcomes research that guides healthcare decision-making in the UAE. This Letter of Intent with AbbVie, established during the notable Abu Dhabi Global Health Week, is a significant stride in connecting our network of researchers, policymakers, and healthcare practitioners with industry expertise. We are excited about the possibilities this partnership holds for generating meaningful research and influencing evidence-based policies that will ultimately benefit patients throughout the UAE.”

Elhussein Abdellatif, General Manager Gulf Levant at AbbVie, expressed pride in their ongoing commitment to improving healthcare standards and enhancing patients’ lives. He highlighted the crucial role of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and health policy in facilitating access to necessary treatments. “Our collaboration with the ISPOR UAE Chapter is a valuable chance to share our knowledge and work together towards establishing a more sustainable and patient-centered healthcare system in the UAE,” he stated.
