Middlesex County Selected by Dubai Firm for $100M North American Expansion

Hotpack, a prominent company in sustainable food packaging from the United Arab Emirates, has announced a $100 million investment in its inaugural manufacturing and distribution center located in Edison, New Jersey.

Governor Phil Murphy, who recently led an economic mission to the Gulf States from Dubai, expressed enthusiasm over this development.

“The choice of Hotpack to establish operations in New Jersey highlights our state’s advantageous location, skilled labor force, and strong infrastructure,” said Murphy. “This move reaffirms New Jersey’s status as a prime location for international businesses looking to expand and innovate in the U.S.”

This initiative marks Hotpack’s first production site on the North American continent, demonstrating its dedication to providing customized packaging solutions while enhancing supply chains to cater to the evolving demands of its expanding customer base in the United States. This aligns with the company’s growth strategy for 2030.

The cutting-edge facility will cover an area of 70,000 square feet, with operations scheduled to launch in June.

During the initial phase of the project, up to 200 new jobs are expected to be created in the region over the next five years.

The facility will specialize in tailoring cups, containers, and clamshells from both plastic and paper materials, with plans for further job creation as the operation grows.

This strategic investment not only enhances Hotpack’s capacity to meet the needs of its U.S. customers with improved efficiency and flexibility but also reinforces its long-term commitment to sustainability and innovation in the global packaging market.
