O Gold and Botim Introduce Innovative Fractional Gold Investment Option

O Gold, the first Emirati application for fractional ownership of gold and silver, has collaborated with botim, the leading AI-driven fintech and communication platform from Astra Tech, to introduce gold investment services within the botim ecosystem.

This collaboration, formalized through a signed agreement in 2023, positions botim as the inaugural fintech in the UAE to offer gold investment solutions, enhancing its presence in the rapidly growing digital finance landscape of the region.

Users can now engage in buying, selling, and managing digital gold starting from as little as 0.1 grams, all accessible directly through the botim app.

O Gold Program Features on Botim

Among the features is O Gold’s Gold Earning (Leasing) Program, which offers users the opportunity to earn an annual return of 3 percent in gold grams, aligned with the global lease rate benchmarks of approximately 3.25 percent reported in London.

“Gold has always held significant historical, cultural, and economic importance in this region. Despite market fluctuations, demand continues to rise,” stated Ahmed Mourad, Chief Operating Officer at Astra Tech | botim. “This partnership facilitates simple and secure fractional gold investment, allowing anyone to participate… It’s another advancement in broadening botim’s financial services and providing users with more accessible avenues to manage and grow their wealth with assurance.”

O Gold has reported rapid growth, with its user base exceeding 100,000 just months after its launch, reflecting a heightened interest in digital gold trading. The company has also obtained a Shariah-compliance certification from the Center of Islamic Banking and Economics (CIBE), emphasizing its dedication to ethical financial practices.

“Our mission at O Gold, as an Emirati enterprise, is to make owning precious metals straightforward, reachable, and secure for all,” commented Bandar Alothman, founder of O Gold. “Joining forces with a widely utilized platform like botim enhances our ability to widen our services, enabling millions of users to embark on their gold investment journey with minimal effort. This truly transforms access to a timeless asset.”

The UAE plays a pivotal role in the global gold market, with exports estimated at $53.41 billion for 2024–2025, according to TradeImeX.

This partnership aims to bolster the country’s position in accessible and innovative gold investment by integrating O Gold’s fractional gold offerings with the substantial botim user base of over eight million.

The new gold investment functionality is now fully operational and can be accessed by botim users through the Invest section of the application.
