Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has finalized three traffic enhancement projects in the Business Bay district, focused on improving road safety and managing traffic flow in this dynamic area.

These upgrades are part of a larger initiative to enhance the emirate’s roadway infrastructure, improving its capacity to support population growth and urban development.

The newly implemented changes are anticipated to facilitate smoother traffic movement, bolster safety measures, and shorten travel times.

The traffic enhancements in Business Bay include…

A road parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road has been redesigned from a two-lane, two-way layout into a one-way dual carriageway. This conversion is expected to reduce traffic conflict points and enhance the street’s capacity by 100%.

Moreover, a 100-meter-long storage lane has been added at the junction of Al Mustaqbal Street and Al Khaleej Al Tejari 1 Street. This addition is set to increase right-turn capacity towards First Al Khail Street by up to 50%, aiming to alleviate congestion and minimize waiting times at the intersection.

Further modifications included reorganizing the service road alongside Al Mustaqbal Street, near the towers, by adding an additional lane. This change is projected to boost road capacity by about 50% and lessen traffic problems.

Additionally, the RTA expanded the access point to the bridge on Al Mustaqbal Street over the canal, heading towards First Al Khail Street, increasing it from one lane to two. This expansion is designed to double the entry capacity, helping to reduce traffic burdens during peak periods and improve overall vehicle movement along the route.
