The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai is modernizing the driver training and certification process through its innovative ‘Tadreeb’ platform. This system integrates all driving schools in the emirate and fully automates training management, assessments, and the handling of trainee data.
Managed by RTA’s Licensing Agency, the platform serves approximately 250,000 trainees each year, providing over six million hours of driving instruction.
It encompasses 27 training institutes, supported by more than 3,400 instructors and a fleet of over 3,000 training vehicles. Each vehicle route is monitored via GPS and connected to the central system, which facilitates a paperless training environment.
“Our platform is designed to accurately assess trainee needs using data analysis, ensuring high-quality training and the licensing of proficient drivers,” stated Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency. “It also plays a significant role in meeting top safety standards, improving training quality, and enhancing governance mechanisms in accordance with global best practices.”
Advantages of RTA’s Tadreeb Platform
The RTA reports that the system has significantly improved training quality, increased transparency in assessments, and decreased accident rates among novice drivers. Integrated smart dashboards track training metrics and automate the evaluation process, while connections to pertinent authorities reduce permit processing times, lower costs, and facilitate remote monitoring.
Compliance among trainers with the mandated training requirements has achieved a rate of 97 percent.
Tadreeb is recognized as the first global unified driver training platform by the International Commission for Driver Testing (CIECA) and has recently been awarded the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.
Looking ahead, the RTA plans to further leverage artificial intelligence to tailor training experiences, automate supervision, and improve overall customer interaction.
