The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has once again secured its position as the world’s most valuable sovereign wealth fund (SWF) brand, as highlighted in the most recent rankings from Brand Finance, a prominent independent consultancy specializing in brand valuation.
In the 2025 version of The Asset Management and Sovereign Wealth Fund 50, published on July 28, Brand Finance assessed the value of PIF’s brand at $1.2 billion, reflecting an 11% increase from the previous year. This marks the second year in a row that PIF has achieved this top ranking, according to a report from the fund.

With a brand strength rating of A+ and a strength index score of 62.9 out of 100, an improvement from last year, PIF continues to excel compared to its global counterparts in both reputation and operational performance. The fund’s brand strength exceeds the global average for SWFs, further solidifying its leadership position in the industry.
Sports partnerships enhance visibility
PIF was uniquely positioned within the top ten rankings for brand value relative to assets under management (AuM), achieving seventh place among all asset management and SWF brands. The fund’s AuM has experienced significant growth, driven by strong returns from major portfolio companies and maturation of long-term investments.
Brand Finance noted that PIF’s growing list of prominent sports sponsorships, including collaborations with ATP and WTA tennis, Formula E, Extreme E, and ownership of LIV Golf, have been pivotal in boosting its brand value. These efforts are part of the fund’s E360 sports investment platform.
“Investments in Formula 1 and football serve as powerful tools for sovereign wealth funds to enhance their global visibility,” stated David Haigh, chairman and CEO of Brand Finance. “PIF’s strategic investments continue to bolster awareness and bolster its international standing.”
