GoChat
As part of a new initiative by Etisalat, GoChat Messenger offers free voice and calling services within the UAE. Users need to register with a mobile number on either iOS or Android. The international calling package starts at Dhs50 for 50 minutes, with several options available. Some added features of the app include bill payments, games, and food delivery services.

BOTIM
Although BOTIM can be downloaded for free, it requires an internet calling plan to function. Users can access BOTIM without being tied to a calling plan with Du or eLife, and it can work on any available data plan or WiFi.

Microsoft Teams
Primarily designed for professional use, this service allows colleagues to communicate individually, and access features for audio, video, chat, and screen sharing. It can be installed on computers, tablets, and mobile devices. Additionally, the app offers 10GB of shared file storage for teams, along with 2GB of personal storage for each member.

Skype for Business
While previously open to personal account users, Skype is now limited to business account holders. It allows meetings with up to 10 participants without a subscription, offers URL invites, PowerPoint upload capabilities for discussions, screen sharing, and instant messaging during meetings.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Zoom surged in popularity as an app for virtual classes and meetings. Initially banned, it became accessible for audio and video calls during lockdown. Without a membership, users can enjoy up to 40 minutes of calling before needing to create a new link. This platform is suitable for a range of events from weddings to family gatherings.

To use Google Meet in the UAE, users must connect their Gmail accounts, enabling them to host calls with up to 100 participants. An easy invitation process allows users to share a link for others to join.
