Turkey is currently in negotiations with Morocco regarding the rental of a regasification vessel, as stated by Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar on Thursday.
During an interview with CNN Turk, Bayraktar mentioned that Turkey has commenced the use of its floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) ships for export activities, highlighting a recent agreement with Egypt for a time charter of these vessels.
“We have an ongoing project with Egypt. Additionally, we are exploring a similar initiative with Morocco, particularly since their demand for gas tends to rise during the summer months, which coincides with our period of consuming 30 percent of our gas,” he explained.
Bayraktar did not elaborate on the specifics of the discussions or the current agreement with Egypt.
