The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) in the United Arab Emirates has released a public advisory encouraging citizens, residents, and visitors to utilize only legitimate platforms when seeking services related to entry, residency, and employment in the UAE.
The agency warned against engaging with misleading advertisements from unauthorized offices or companies that promote their services via websites and social media, as reported by WAM.

The ICP stated that its official services can be easily accessed through a user-friendly website, a dedicated smart application, and authorized service centers and typing offices across the country. It emphasized that no preferential treatment or expedited services have been authorized for third-party agencies claiming otherwise.
Increase in social media fraud
The authority pointed out a rising incidence of online fraud, where fake profiles and websites claim to provide government-related services with promises of quicker processing times. These entities often charge exorbitant fees and do not adhere to regulations or established service standards, according to the ICP.
“These dishonest advertisers resort to misleading strategies to take advantage of the public,” stated the ICP. “Their actions harm the reputation of the authority, pose security threats, and aid in the emergence of a black market that undermines transparency and accountability.”
The authority has confirmed it is actively monitoring dubious online activities and is collaborating with pertinent legal entities to enforce appropriate legal measures against offenders.
Residents and visitors are urged to report any suspicious conduct and to seek services only through official channels to ensure legitimacy and protect themselves from scams.
