UAE Introduces Its First AI-Driven Corporate Tax Software Through Dubai’s Tax Star

Tax Star, the first corporate tax software in the UAE developed in Dubai, utilizes artificial intelligence to assist accounting firms and internal finance teams in optimizing their operations. This innovative tool aims to enhance efficiency, avoid fiscal penalties, and enable businesses to handle a larger client base without increasing staff. It is specifically designed to tackle the intricacies of the new corporate tax regulations in the UAE, adeptly managing diverse tax rates, exemptions, and allowances.

Designed by accountants for the accounting industry, Tax Star integrates effortlessly with current systems to automate daily operations. After 18 months of intensive development, it offers functionalities such as smart tax calculations, compliance monitoring, client approvals, secure document storage, and various integrations, all within a single platform.

The accounting sector in the UAE is increasingly turning to AI for support in areas such as corporate tax, VAT, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters, and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance. Unlike many tools that focus solely on advisory assistance, Tax Star provides comprehensive workflow automation, managing every step from computation to submission.

Rayhan Aleem, the co-Founder and CEO of Tax Star, expressed the company’s ambition, stating, “Our goal is to establish a global tax technology firm, proudly based in Dubai. We aspire to empower accountants by boosting productivity and minimizing dependence on manual processes. While companies are now legally obligated to maintain records for a minimum of seven years, many still find their tax-related documents scattered across different platforms like email, WhatsApp, accounting systems, and private servers. Tax Star centralizes everything in one organized, accessible, and audit-prepared location, ensuring firms remain compliant without the associated confusion.”

Rayhan further mentioned, “We are thrilled about how our AI-driven platform is transforming compliance into a more strategic endeavor. We are not just performing calculations; we are replacing traditional spreadsheets with a system that completely automates the corporate tax process. This transformation allows accountants to allocate more time to high-value advisory services. By developing intelligent tools that streamline tax calculations, we are providing accounting firms with the means to grow effectively, offer robust advice, and shape the future of taxation in Dubai and beyond.”

Feedback from accounting firms using Tax Star indicates that its AI-enabled corporate tax calculator can cut processing time by 75%, allowing them to accommodate 50% more clients. The company is also working on group tax calculation features for organizations that operate under group structures, making return filings easier through a consolidated framework.
