WETEX leads the UAE towards pioneering the development of sustainable cities in the region

For the third consecutive year, the Water, Energy, and Environment Technology Exhibition (WETEX) is dedicating a special area for real estate development companies that focus on sustainable cities and green buildings.

The 27th edition of WETEX will showcase significant participation and sponsorship from major national and international companies that have recorded groundbreaking success stories in the construction and development of green buildings designed with environmental considerations. These projects ensure the highest standards of comfort and quality of life for their residents within a healthy and sustainable environment.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Prime Minister, and under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organizing the 27th WETEX from September 30 to October 2, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Center.

Urban Areas

According to Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA and Founder of WETEX, “WETEX supports Dubai’s Urban Plan 2040 and enhances the UAE’s leadership in adopting sustainable city concepts.” He noted that with United Nations reports indicating that 60% of the global population is expected to live in urban areas by 2030, the exhibition boosts the region’s efforts to keep pace with these trends through ambitious investments in smart and sustainable urban development.

“We are eager to attract local and global partners interested in investing in the cities of the future, to exchange the latest innovative and sustainable solutions and technologies to redefine urban living concepts, enhance sustainable real estate, and green buildings in Dubai and worldwide, ensuring a more resilient and sustainable future,” he added.

Driving Sustainability

At WETEX 2025, prominent sponsors such as Umm Al-Qaiwain Group, Bin Gati, DAMAC Properties, and Ellington Properties will present their innovative solutions and technologies aimed at promoting sustainability in the real estate sector. They will focus on increasing the number of sustainable smart cities that balance economic growth with resource sustainability, while enhancing adaptability to various social, environmental, and economic challenges.

Mohammad Amjad, Founder and CEO of Umm Al-Qaiwain Group, expressed pride in being the main sponsor of WETEX this year, highlighting their support for DEWA’s vision in striving for a more innovative and sustainable future. “Sustainability is a core value of our corporate identity, and every project we launch is an opportunity to create architectural landmarks that embody the highest standards of responsible construction,” he stated. “We firmly believe that developing world-class spaces must inherently align with the principles of sustainability to preserve our environment for future generations.”

Corporate Partnerships

Mohammad Bin Gati, Chairman of Bin Gati, mentioned the importance of their partnership as a titanium sponsor for WETEX 2025, emphasizing how they utilize their expertise in project development to serve a sustainability agenda through effective energy and water management. “WETEX’s strength lies in bringing decision-makers, innovators, and developers onto one platform, fostering actionable partnerships with measurable economic and social impacts, thereby reinforcing Dubai’s position as a reliable hub for responsible innovation,” he said.

Hussain Sajwani, Founder and Chairman of DAMAC Properties, reiterated their commitment to WETEX, the largest sustainability and clean energy technology exhibition in the region. He stated, “DAMAC’s vision aligns with the exhibition’s goals to promote sustainability and implement best practices in environmental adaptation while integrating smart technologies. We encourage everyone to share sustainable best practices and utilize this platform to foster a circular economy, paving the way for a brighter future.”

Joseph Thomas, Co-founder of Ellington Properties, remarked on WETEX as an effective platform that brings together innovators and change-makers to drive sustainability across various sectors. “We are honored to support this year’s edition, aligning with our belief that the future of the real estate sector must be built on the foundations of responsibility, design excellence, and environmental consciousness. Our participation solidifies our commitment to Dubai’s vision for a more sustainable and resilient future,” he concluded.
