The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority conducted 15,328 inspection visits to various food establishments in the emirate in the first quarter of the year. This was done to ensure food safety and increase awareness of the importance of following proper practices in this field.
The authority implements effective regulatory systems and comprehensive educational programs in the field of agriculture and food, based on global best practices and risk analysis principles, to enhance the well-being and safety of the community.
The smart inspection application launched by the authority, which relies on artificial intelligence technologies and GPS to locate food establishments, has successfully carried out thousands of field inspection visits. It automatically schedules inspection operations, provides contact information, allows access to the establishment’s historical record, enables photography and attachment of documents, as well as sharing the final inspection report with stakeholders via email or phone.
The “Zadna Evaluation” application, launched by the authority to share the results of evaluating food establishments with the public, has significantly increased the number of food establishments participating in it. This has contributed to increasing the compliance rate of food establishments in the emirate. The application allows consumers to access the evaluation results of food establishments based on food safety levels, as well as a separate evaluation of establishments participating in the “Healthy” program of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center.
Furthermore, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority confirmed that a total of approximately 115,000 laboratory tests were conducted in the emirate’s biosafety laboratories during the first quarter of the year to enhance biosafety and readiness to combat infectious diseases.
