Sources from the Palestinian medical community reported that hospitals in the Gaza Strip recorded seven new fatalities today due to malnutrition and famine, including one child. This brings the total number of victims from malnutrition to 169, with 93 being children.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition rates among children under five have doubled between March and June as a result of the ongoing blockade.
The World Health Organization stated that malnutrition levels in Gaza have reached alarming proportions, revealing that one in five children under five in Gaza City suffers from acute malnutrition.
The same Palestinian medical sources reported that since October 7, 2023, the total death toll in the region has reached 60,430, most of whom are women and children. Additionally, the number of injuries has risen to 148,722, with a significant number of victims still trapped under debris.
