6.3 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Greek Island of Crete, Felt by Residents in Egypt

A seismic event measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck the Greek island of Crete on Wednesday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences. The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 83 kilometers. Additionally, residents in Egypt reported feeling the tremor around 10:53 AM GMT.

The National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics in Egypt stated that its seismic network had not detected any aftershocks from the Mediterranean earthquake and confirmed that there were no reports of injuries or damage to property. The institute also noted a separate earthquake of magnitude 6.4 that occurred 431 kilometers off the northern coast of Egypt.
