The Board of Directors of the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai convened for its second meeting of the new season, led by Bilal Al-Badour, the Chairman, and attended by Ali Obaid Al-Hamli, Vice Chairman and Head of the Media Committee, Dr. Salah Al-Qasim, Executive Director, Jamal Al-Khayat, Financial Director, Engineer Rashad Boukhos, Head of the Awards and Competitions Committee, and Engineer Maryam Thani, Head of the Library and Publishing Committee.
During the meeting, a number of topics related to administrative work were discussed, and the board approved the cultural program that features a diverse range of cultural and artistic activities aimed at catering to public interests while keeping up with artistic, intellectual, technological, cultural, and literary developments.
As part of the celebration of Al-Owais Centennial, the board decided to organize a discussion session regarding the Al-Owais Creativity Award in May, along with a poetry seminar about Sultan Al-Owais in October, and a showcase of calligraphic works featuring selections from his poems and verses.
The board also endorsed the Scientific Club program, which will include activities, courses, and workshops designed to enhance the skills and talents of students and members, along with local, Arab, regional, and international participations that boost the abilities of student creatives.
The board members reiterated the importance of focusing on artistic events that draw public enthusiasm and promote high-quality art such as music, theater, and various film screenings, as well as monitoring recent developments in the cultural, intellectual, and creative arenas specifically.
