Afghanistan and Pakistan Agree to Continue Talks Following Istanbul Meetings

On Thursday, the spokesperson for the Afghan government, Zabihullah Mujahid, announced the conclusion of talks between Afghan and Pakistani officials in Istanbul, which took place over several days under the mediation of Turkey and Qatar. Both sides have agreed to continue discussions.

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced later that Afghanistan and Pakistan are set to resume peace negotiations in Istanbul on November 6. They have also agreed to maintain a ceasefire until that date.

In a statement, the Ministry noted, “All parties have agreed to prolong the ceasefire. The implementation details will be examined during a high-level meeting in Istanbul on November 6, 2025.”
