Strengthening Arab Cooperation for a Unified Voice
His Highness Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, emphasized the necessity for enhanced Arab collaboration to create a unified voice and a clear message from the region to the world in light of recent political and technological developments. He highlighted that the essence of this initiative revolves around advocating for peaceful coexistence and empowering peoples to pursue a stable, progressive, and prosperous future.
This statement was made during a meeting attended by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, along with Arab media ministers participating in the Arab Media Summit, which commenced yesterday under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. During the summit, Sheikh Ahmad exchanged insights and opinions with the ministers regarding the requirements for Arab media work in the upcoming phase and the need for increased cooperation and coordination on vital issues concerning the region and its people. He reaffirmed the pivotal role of media in shaping favorable outcomes aimed at benefiting the Arab region and its citizens.
Sheikh Ahmad also reiterated the UAE’s commitment, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to support the media and media professionals. This support stems from a firm belief in media’s role as a partner in sustainable development, utilizing its capacity to bring about positive change in communities and energize efforts for progress.
In turn, the Arab media ministers attending the summit expressed their profound appreciation for the UAE’s contributions and leadership in advocating for Arab causes at both regional and international levels. They acknowledged the country’s impactful initiatives aimed at fostering human advancement, including the Arab Media Summit hosted by Dubai, which aims to facilitate dialogue among Arab media leaders and key industry players to outline a clear vision for the sector’s future and reinforce its positive impact on achieving the desired Arab renaissance. Their collective goal is to mobilize efforts towards a future that offers opportunities for growth and prosperity within the region.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Bateeh Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office, His Excellency Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information of Bahrain, His Excellency Paul Marquess, Minister of Information of Lebanon, and Muna Ganem Al Merri, Deputy Chair and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, who is also the President of the Dubai Press Club and Chair of the Arab Media Summit Organizational Committee.
