Al-Dar’i: The Great Hajj Symposium as a Platform for Harmonizing Visions and Ideas

Dr. Omar Habtoor Al-Derei, the Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, as well as the Head of the UAE Hajj Affairs Office, and Mr. Ahmed Rashid Al-Neyadi, the Director General of the Authority and Deputy Head of the Hajj Office, participated in the Grand Hajj Symposium organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The event saw the attendance of prominent officials, scholars, and thinkers from various countries within the Islamic world.

Dr. Al-Derei praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in enhancing the Hajj and Umrah experience, emphasizing that the annual Grand Hajj Symposium serves as a platform for harmonizing visions and ideas among nations and official pilgrimage delegations. He noted that the symposium fosters innovative initiatives aimed at improving services for pilgrims in line with the best practices that reflect the evolving nature of contemporary life. He highlighted that the recommendations and decisions generated by this symposium from experienced professionals are invaluable resources for all countries in their Hajj-related programs.

He reiterated the commitment to strengthening cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia across various sectors, stemming from the deep-rooted relationship between their leaderships and the mutual aspirations of their peoples.

The symposium included numerous scientific sessions and specialized discussions focused on developing the Hajj system, as well as utilizing modern technology and artificial intelligence to enhance the services offered to pilgrims.
