American Hospital and Harvard Education Launch Initiative to Train 100 UAE Leaders in the Healthcare Sector

In a significant move showcasing commitment to investing in national talent, the American Hospital in Dubai, in collaboration with Harvard Institute for Educational Leadership, has announced a groundbreaking initiative aimed at training 100 young Emirati leaders in healthcare management.

The official announcement and agreement signing took place at the Museum of the Future, a key symbol of innovation in Dubai, reflecting the initiative’s spirit that combines visionary outlook with global education and local expertise. Notable attendees included Sharif Bashir, CEO of the American Hospital, and Vinay Hepar, EVP and Head of Harvard Institute for Educational Leadership, along with several officials from both organizations.

The initiative spans nine months, beginning with an intensive six-month academic program in partnership with Harvard’s public health school, which will take place in person in Dubai. The curriculum includes high-level lectures and workshops focusing on leadership, management, health policies, and institutional transformation.

This program will be followed by a three-month practical training phase at the American Hospital, where participants will be assigned to various administrative departments to gain real-world experience that prepares them to lead future healthcare organizations.

Sharif Bashir, CEO of the American Hospital Group in Dubai, stated: “When we promised to invest in Emirati minds, we meant every word. From the Museum of the Future, we are launching this initiative which we believe will contribute to shaping a new generation of leaders capable of redefining the future of the healthcare sector in the UAE.”

Vinay Hepar, EVP and Head of Harvard Institute for Educational Leadership, remarked: “At Harvard Institute for Educational Leadership, we recognize the importance of developing leaders who propel the world forward. Our partnership with the American Hospital in Dubai exemplifies what collaborative efforts between prestigious educational institutions and leading healthcare organizations can achieve. We are excited to see the positive impact this initiative will have on the future of the healthcare system in the UAE.”

This initiative marks a pioneering effort that unites a private healthcare institution with Harvard Institute for Educational Leadership in a specialized program designed to prepare national leaders in healthcare management, bolstering Dubai’s position as a global hub for talent development and health innovation.
