Ammar Al-Nuaimi Explores Collaboration with China in Technology, Industry, and Energy

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, met with Yuan Jia Jun, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Party in Chongqing, along with several senior officials, during his visit to the People’s Republic of China.

During the meeting, His Highness discussed ways to strengthen collaboration across various sectors, including modern technology, industry, and renewable energy, while exploring potential investment and trade opportunities between Ajman and Chongqing.

His Highness extended an invitation to Yuan Jia Jun and other government officials from Chongqing to visit Ajman to deepen cooperative relationships and strengthen ties between the two regions.

Sheikh Ammar articulated, “Our vision is grounded in fostering innovation and employing advanced technology across multiple sectors. We aim to enhance international cooperation to achieve sustainable and inclusive development. In Ajman, we believe that building partnerships with major Chinese cities will contribute significantly to mutual growth and prosperity.”

He further noted, “The diplomatic ties between the UAE and China began in 1984, and we recently celebrated 40 years of successful and growing partnerships across various fields. In 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a landmark visit to the UAE, which laid the foundation for a comprehensive strategic partnership between our countries.”

His Highness continued, “Significant visits have persisted between our two nations, notably the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to China in May 2024, where over 30 agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed.”

He affirmed that the mutual visits have positioned the UAE as China’s largest non-oil trade partner in the Middle East, while China has become the UAE’s largest trading partner, with non-oil trade exceeding $90 billion in 2024, aiming to surpass $200 billion by 2030.

Sheikh Ammar shared, “In 2024, Ajman launched the Ajman 2030 vision, driven by our commitment to anticipate future needs and create a competitive business environment and investment climate that will stimulate economic growth.”

This visit underscores our desire to forge strategic partnerships with Chongqing, creating new avenues for investment in promising areas such as clean energy, smart infrastructure, and waste management and recycling.

He added, “We believe that the partnership between Ajman and Chongqing will help us achieve our shared objectives and support the Ajman 2030 vision toward a prosperous emirate with a competitive economy, high quality of life, environmental sustainability, and an innovative government.”

His Highness thanked Yuan Jia Jun for the warm welcome and expressed hopes that this meeting would yield fruitful cooperation between Ajman and Chongqing within the framework of distinguished UAE-China relations.

Additionally, Sheikh Ammar visited the Chongqing City Planning Exhibition, a prominent feature of the city’s urban growth located on the southern bank of the Yangtze River, where he was briefed on ambitious plans for the development of infrastructure and urban identity.

His Highness received a comprehensive overview of the diverse exhibits at the venue, which spans over 13,000 square meters, including multimedia halls, interactive galleries, scale models of city plans, and 3D exhibition areas.
