Artist Jassim Alawadi expressed that blending various arts is not a novel concept; it has existed for a long time and evolves with new tools and methods in each era. He highlighted the presence of many bold artists who endeavor to incorporate multiple art schools or forms into a single artwork.
He added, “Dubai is a city brimming with innovative artists and those who love to embrace modernity, creating a significant appeal for such works among both the public and artists alike. For instance, when I created a sculpture in a public space in Dubai, I not only sculpted but integrated Arabic letters into it, adding great depth and dimension to the piece. This allows individuals to interpret it in their own way, even if they are not familiar with the Arabic script. I am confident that the Arabic language has become global, with its characters recognized in many other languages.”

Visual artist Fouad Hamza, who recently held an exhibition titled “Letters in Motion” in Dubai, shared that he began his artistic journey in Dubai and has since reached a global audience. He emphasized that he merges Arabic calligraphy with foreign letters and graffiti, creating works that blend tradition and modernity.
He remarked, “I find great pleasure in merging different forms of art, particularly Arabic letters, which I allow to flow from a special stick; I do not draw directly but let the color drip freely onto the canvas, adding beauty to the work, making it distinct from any other piece.”
When my paintings transitioned from Dubai to America and Europe, they were well-received, not just due to the style but also because of the Arabic letters, which have garnered admirers from around the globe, even from those who cannot read them but feel their essence through the artwork or the artist.”
