Badr Al Qasimi Anticipates the Release of “House of Wisdom” at the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival

Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority and founder of Kalimat Group, has signed copies of her latest book, “House of Wisdom,” which has won the Sharjah Children’s Book Award in the category of “Best Children’s Book in English for Ages 7 to 13,” as well as the prestigious Bologna Ragazzi Award for 2025. This event took place during a public signing session at the Kalimat Group’s booth at the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, which runs until May 4 at the Sharjah Expo Center, under the theme “Let Books Envelop You.”

During the festival, Kalimat Group is organizing a series of initiatives that include launching new publications, establishing strategic partnerships, and hosting reading sessions featuring noted authors. Additionally, new projects aimed at promoting reading culture and enhancing Arabic publishing for young audiences will be announced. In a move that supports the group’s objectives to foster a reading culture, Kalimat Group has announced a strategic partnership agreement with the Sharjah Cooperative Society. This collaboration seeks to support cultural initiatives and raise awareness about the importance of reading and knowledge in individuals’ lives, reflecting both parties’ commitment to long-term community engagement.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Sharjah Cooperative Society will sponsor Kalimat Group’s initiatives aimed at promoting reading and education both within the Emirate of Sharjah and beyond. This includes supporting the group’s participation in the festival throughout the partnership’s duration while implementing various programs to encourage reading and community involvement.

Alongside its participation in the festival, Kalimat Group launched several new titles, including “Did You Know?” by Sheikha Mira Al Qasimi. This engaging educational book, designed for children aged six and above, presents fun and surprising facts about the animal kingdom in both Arabic and English in an accessible and entertaining manner.

The group’s booth at the festival also featured the launch of “Please Fasten Your Seatbelts,” authored by Emirati writer Noora Al Khouri, in collaboration with Sharjah International Airport. This book introduces children to the world of aviation and travel in a simple and enjoyable way, taking young readers on an informative journey covering all airport procedures up to takeoff, enriching their knowledge and sparking their imagination about the flying experience.
