Before Meeting Zelensky, Trump Expresses Willingness to Supply Ukraine with Tomahawk Missiles

Trump Expresses Disappointment with Putin Ahead of Zelensky’s Visit

Former U.S. President Donald Trump conveyed significant disappointment in Russian President Vladimir Putin, just days before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s scheduled visit to Washington this coming Friday.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump stated, “I am extremely frustrated because my relationship with Vladimir was very good, and perhaps it still is. I don’t understand why he continues this war.”

Trump emphasized that Putin appears unwilling to bring an end to the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, which has lasted for more than three and a half years. He remarked, “I think that makes him look very bad. He could end it, and quite swiftly.”

At the same time, Trump praised Ukraine for its resistance against Russian aggression, confirming that Zelensky would be visiting him on Friday. He added, “He is seeking weaponry and is interested in acquiring Tomahawk missiles.”

Trump did not rule out the possibility of providing Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles and noted his desire to discuss this matter with Russia.

On Monday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov issued a warning against such a decision.

Tomahawk missiles boast a range of up to 2,500 kilometers and can technically be equipped with nuclear warheads.
