Former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed significant disappointment with Russian President Vladimir Putin, just ahead of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s upcoming visit to Washington this Friday.
During a press briefing at the White House, Trump remarked, “I’m very frustrated because my relationship with Vladimir was quite good, and perhaps it still is. I don’t understand why he continues this war.”
Trump asserted that Putin appears unwilling to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, which has been ongoing for over three years, stating, “I believe it makes him look very bad. He could end it swiftly.”
Simultaneously, Trump commended Ukraine for its defense efforts against Russia, confirming that Zelensky is scheduled to meet with him on Friday, adding, “He is asking for weapons and wants to obtain Tomahawk missiles.”
Trump did not rule out the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles and indicated his desire to discuss the issue with Russia.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov issued a warning on Monday concerning such a move.
Tomahawk missiles have a range of up to 2,500 kilometers and can technically be equipped with nuclear warheads.
