Collaboration Between Dubai Courts and the UAE Sports Arbitration Centre

The Dubai Courts have entered into a memorandum of understanding with the UAE Sports Arbitration Center to enhance collaboration in enforcing judicial and arbitration rulings related to sports disputes, as well as in training sports arbitrators and specialists in managing such cases.

This agreement was signed by Professor Dr. Essa Ganem Al Suwaidi, Director of Dubai Courts, and Jamal Hamad Al Merri, Chairman of the UAE Sports Arbitration Center.

Professor Dr. Essa Ganem Al Suwaidi stated, “We are pleased to establish this agreement with the UAE Sports Arbitration Center, as it will unite our efforts to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of judicial services while accelerating their delivery.”

This agreement is seen as a significant step in fostering institutional collaboration in the enforcement of judicial rulings and in developing the skills of sports arbitrators. It aims to lay the groundwork for a more adaptable sports arbitration system that keeps pace with the evolving sports sector in the region.

Jamal Hamad Al Merri, Chairman of the UAE Sports Arbitration Center, expressed that this cooperation agreement with Dubai Courts is a substantial addition to the center’s initiatives and its strategy focused on enhancing partnerships and facilitating effective communication with various related institutions. This supports the center’s mission and objectives, emphasizing the importance of resolving sports disputes through mediation and arbitration.

He also noted that the agreement comes at a time when the center has successfully established a network of experienced mediators and arbitrators with expertise in both legal and sports fields.
