Commitment to Invest Billions to Modernize Nuclear Deterrent: Trump at Generals’ Meeting Warns of Internal Invasion

During a recent meeting, President Donald Trump asserted that the United States has a significant advantage in military capabilities, claiming American submarines are around 25 years ahead of both Russia and China. He announced plans to allocate tens of billions towards modernizing nuclear deterrence and enhancing defense technologies, emphasizing a perceived “invasion from within” the country.

In a gathering with hundreds of American military generals in Quantico, Virginia, Trump stressed the importance of superiority in all areas, insisting that the U.S. must be powerful enough to deter any threats or challenges from other nations.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth convened an extraordinary emergency meeting, prompting the attendance of numerous generals and admirals from various branches of the U.S. military worldwide. Trump committed to making the military “stronger, tougher, faster, and fiercer than ever before.”

The President emphasized that the primary mission of the military is to defend the homeland, rather than addressing conflicts abroad, suggesting that the U.S. faces internal threats that are akin to foreign invasions. He expressed the need to focus on defending U.S. borders after spending trillions on foreign defenses.

He also stated, “We will be a machine for fighting and winning… dedicated to investing a trillion dollars in the military by 2026 and spending tens of billions to upgrade nuclear deterrent capabilities.”

Discussing the nuclear strength of the U.S., Trump mentioned moving submarines towards the Russian coastline as a precautionary measure, asserting that the country cannot allow others to manipulate the situation.

He pledged to protect Americans from internal threats, including those posed by Iranian nuclear capabilities, mentioning the dangers of allowing criminal behavior to become a norm in the U.S. He underscored that many leaders have misused military forces in the past, and some are now criticizing him for refraining from deploying the military to curb crime within U.S. borders.

Vice President J.D. Vance, for his part, downplayed the significance of the meeting, suggesting it was made into a big story by the media. The Pentagon did not provide detailed reasons for the meeting, with the spokesman simply noting that Secretary of Defense will address military leaders early next week.
