In response to the directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, may God protect him, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has announced the holding of a special prayer for rain in all mosques within the emirate that typically host Friday prayers. This prayer is scheduled for Friday, October 17, at 12:45 PM, which is half an hour prior to the Friday sermon. This practice is in line with the tradition of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in seeking rainfall and divine mercy from God.
The initiative to hold this prayer reflects the commitment of the wise leadership to promote communal religious practices while reinforcing values of faith, reliance on God, and trust in His power within the community.
The department encourages all members of the community, both citizens and residents, to participate in this spiritual act, turning to God in supplication for rain and blessings for the nation.
