The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai has implemented an environmental and educational initiative for children in collaboration with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority at the Al Mankhool Public Library. This initiative coincided with World Environment Day on June 5th of each year.
The initiative aimed to instill environmental concepts in a creative and simplified manner through awareness activities that highlight the importance of preserving the environment. It encouraged children to adopt sustainable behaviors that protect the earth and support quality of life. Environmentally friendly gifts were distributed to reflect the values of sustainability and connect learning with responsibility in a joyful atmosphere with the participation of cartoon characters Salim and Salama.
Colonel Abdul Samad Hussain Suleiman Al Balushi, Assistant Director-General for Entrepreneurship and Future Affairs, stated: “We believe that shaping the future of Dubai begins with the awareness of children today. Our institutional message is incomplete without instilling a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility in the new generations. This initiative is part of a series of initiatives that embody our commitment to the values of the community and our investment in green knowledge.
