Dubai Media Academy Hosts Specialized Workshops on Creative Writing

The Dubai Academy for Media, part of the Dubai Media Corporation, has announced its participation in the 34th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. This event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, will run until May 5 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

This involvement aligns with the academy’s commitment to fostering media professionals and empowering them to enhance the Arab media and cultural landscape, in line with the Dubai Media Corporation’s goal of elevating the local and Arab media sectors.

During the exhibition, the academy will offer a specialized training program focused on improving skills in both literary and specialized writing. It will kick off with a workshop titled “Fundamentals of Specialized Writing,” conducted by writer and editor Mustafa Rizk today. This session will introduce participants to key principles of crafting specialized content professionally to meet the diverse needs of various sectors. Furthermore, on May 1, the academy will host a workshop named “Integrating Specialized Writing into Literary Works,” overseen by novelist and writer Donia Kamal. This workshop will explore ways to incorporate specialized knowledge into literary texts, aiming to enhance the depth and credibility of narratives.

In this context, Mona Busamra, Director of the Dubai Academy for Media, stated: “Our participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025 embodies the institution’s vision to support the Arab cultural movement and to develop the skills of writers and media professionals, enabling them to meet future aspirations. We firmly believe in the importance of investing in media talent and encouraging them to enhance their specialized and creative writing capabilities, which are fundamental for shaping Arab media content and boosting its global presence.” She affirmed that the academy will continue its mission to promote creativity and preserve authentic cultural identity, establishing itself as a leading regional center for media training and content creation amidst the rapid transformations in the media industry.
