Dubai Police Hosts Exhibition to Promote Traffic Awareness

The Roads and Transport Authority has successfully completed the first phase of the development project for waiting areas at marine transport stations in the Dubai Marina area. This phase includes five stations: Marina Promenade, Marina Terrace, Marina Walk, Marina Mall, and Marina Mall 1. These stations are designed to be air-conditioned and equipped with comprehensive facilities and services, featuring innovative designs that enhance cultural identity and heritage, inspired by traditional wooden abras in the emirate.

This initiative is part of the authority’s broader strategy to upgrade the marine transport infrastructure in Dubai and improve service quality in line with the government’s vision to provide top-notch services for residents, visitors, and tourists, reinforcing the emirate’s status as a leading global tourist destination.

The new stations aim to strengthen connectivity between vital facilities and key landmarks in the area. They are strategically designed to connect directly with major commercial centers like Marina Mall, surrounding residential areas, as well as metro and tram stations. This integration enhances public transport usability and facilitates movement for residents and visitors while reducing reliance on private vehicles.

The first phase of the project was executed based on customer satisfaction survey results, and these stations are equipped with modern amenities aimed at providing an exceptional experience. Features include free Wi-Fi during waiting times, an effective audio announcement system for clear information dissemination, and real-time display screens showing marine transport schedules to fully meet user needs.

Khalaf Balghozz Alzarouni, the Director of Marine Transport at the Roads and Transport Authority, emphasized that this step reflects the authority’s commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety and comfort for marine transport users. Security measures such as surveillance cameras and fire alarm systems have been incorporated into the design.

Alzarouni further noted that the authority has implemented “Dubai Code” accessibility elements into the waiting areas’ designs, reflecting their commitment to meeting the needs of all community segments. This includes ensuring accessible routes and features tailored to the needs of individuals with disabilities, such as ramps and appropriately designed heights in waiting areas.

The next phase of the project will include the completion of five additional stations. Work on these will follow the global standards established in the first phase, with station selection based on demand and strategic location significance, further reinforcing the authority’s strategy aimed at enhancing user satisfaction and providing innovative services that promote sustainability and quality of life in Dubai.
