Brigadier Khaled bin Muweizah, the Director of the General Department for Drug Control at Dubai Police, commended the efforts of all strategic partners involved in the summer programs. He highlighted their significant support, which has been crucial in maintaining and enhancing these seasonal initiatives over the years. This collaboration has notably increased enrollment in student summer programs.
Brigadier Khaled emphasized the continuous commitment of the Dubai Police leadership to support and organize summer activities for school students at the end of the academic year. The aim is to make productive use of students’ time while fostering a sense of national identity, respect for laws, and instilling values of loyalty to wise leadership. The goal is to prepare a generation of youth that is highly aware and educated about important issues and risks, teaching them how to handle such situations responsibly and skillfully, thereby reducing the likelihood of legal complications.
This year, the summer activity program saw participation from 1,332 students, comprising 776 males and 556 females from 28 different nationalities. Among them, 870 were citizens, while 462 were expatriates, reflecting an 18% increase in total student participation, a 33% rise in the number of venues, and a 13% growth in participating nationalities.
Brigadier Khaled noted that this year’s courses were distributed across 16 training centers, which included Hamdan bin Rashid Secondary School for Boys, Zayed Educational Complex in Oud Metha, Zayed Educational Complex in Al Warqa, Hatta 1 Basic Education School, Zayed Educational Complex in Al Barsha North, Zayed Educational Complex in Al Barsha South, Asma bint al-Nu’man Model School, and Rashid bin Saeed Basic and Secondary School in Hatta, along with specialized centers within the General Department of Criminal Investigation, the Mounted Police Station, the Unified Contact Center 901, the General Department of Security for Entities and Events, the General Department of Transport and Rescue, and the K9 Security Inspection Unit (police dogs).
Furthermore, Brigadier Khaled mentioned that this year’s activities and programs included 36 different training initiatives. Some of these programs featured courses in promising investigator training, diving, swimming, military training, sports training, future officer programs, the unified contact center 901, police dog training, cycling, horse care courses, along with K9 dog care programs, awareness lectures, and field visits.
