Dubai Press Launches Second Edition of “The Arabic Podcast” on July 7

The Dubai Press Club has announced the launch of the second edition of the “Arab Podcasting Program,” an initiative aimed at training and equipping a new generation of audio content creators in the Arab world, addressing the rapid growth of the podcasting sector globally.

The program, which will kick off on July 7 at the Dubai Press Club, spans five consecutive weeks of training that combines foundational and specialized practical elements, guided by a distinguished group of Arab experts and trainers in podcasting and audio content creation.

The launch of this second edition builds upon the quality outcomes achieved by the initial version and continues the Dubai Press Club’s commitment to enhancing the Arab media landscape in line with digital age demands. Through practical programs, it provides participants with essential skills and practical knowledge in producing audio content.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Head of the Dubai Press Club, emphasized that this new edition represents a practical implementation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. This investment in Arab media talent aims to empower them with new content creation tools.

She pointed out that as the global media landscape undergoes rapid transformations, there is a pressing need to enhance Arabic content in the digital space, shifting from consumption to production and from mere reception to impactful contributions. Thus, the launch of the second edition of the Arab Podcasting Program comes as part of Dubai’s vision for the future of media and reflects our ongoing efforts to provide quality initiatives that help build the capabilities of Arab youth, enabling them with modern content creation tools.

Dubai has consistently been at the forefront of adopting projects that keep pace with media developments and invest in human capital. This program embodies the belief that empowerment begins with knowledge and that effective content creation necessitates a nurturing environment that combines creativity, professionalism, and institutional support. Through the Dubai Press Club, we aim to offer an educational and practical platform focused on developing advanced skills for Arab podcasters and equipping them with the necessary tools to excel in this rapidly growing and interactive media sector.

The program’s objective is to support and empower audio content creators in the Arab world, offering a comprehensive educational experience that covers all stages of podcast production—from idea conceptualization and planning to publishing, marketing, and monetization. It also focuses on enhancing participants’ creative and technical skills, with the aim of cultivating a new generation of Arab influencers capable of producing high-quality audio content that reflects the region’s culture and engages a wider audience through modern media approaches.

Maryam Mulla, Acting Director of the Dubai Press Club, stated that the design of the second edition of the program was based on an in-depth analysis of the requirements and rapid evolution of the Arab podcasting industry. She noted that the program offers participants a complete hands-on educational experience, covering all production phases from idea development to distribution and professional expansion.

She remarked, “We ensured that the second edition is more comprehensive in terms of training content and the level of specialization in each area, involving a selection of the leading podcasters in the Arab world to share their experiences and insights with the participants, enabling them to build media projects that can compete and sustain themselves according to the highest professional and commercial standards.”

Additionally, Mahfouz Abdullah, the Program Director, affirmed that the second edition of the program solidifies Dubai’s position as a leader in developing the Arab media industry within an integrated vision.

In the first week, the program will begin with eight foundational units designed to set participants on the right professional path from day one. These units will cover “Audience Targeting and Coordination,” followed by “Content Strategy Development,” a unit on “Post-Production,” a deep dive into “Podcast Identity Design,” and “Hosting and Distribution,” culminating in a unit on “Marketing Strategy,” along with “Revenue Generation,” and concluding with a unit on “Understanding Analytics.”

During the second week, participants will implement a practical podcast project that embodies what they have learned in previous units, which will be presented to a specialized evaluation committee that will determine eligibility for the program’s advanced second phase.

The second phase of the program includes specialized practical sessions that allow participants to benefit from the expertise of prominent content creators in the Arab world.

Week four features a specialized practical session presented by the production and distribution company Poddster, offering participants direct experiences in a professional studio, with comprehensive technical support and guidance to transform participants’ projects into ready-to-publish podcast episodes using professional tools and techniques, overseen by industry experts.

The program concludes its fifth week with a series of practical sessions, beginning with Khaled Abu Jabin presenting “Podcaster Confessions: Failures, Solutions, and Lessons Learned,” highlighting the key challenges faced by content creators while providing practical solutions for sustaining production.

At the end of the program, the Dubai Press Club will hold a special session for graduates of the first edition of the “Arab Podcasting Program,” where they will share their real-life experiences in the podcasting realm and discuss the added value that the program contributed to their journey as audio content creators, empowering them to enter this unique world with distinctive Arabic ideas and content.
