The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has urged transportation operators to comply with regulations governing various transportation activities, including rented bus services, tourist transportation, and international transit. The authority also called upon them to support efforts aimed at delivering high-quality services to residents, visitors, and tourists from around the globe.
This announcement came after field teams from the RTA conducted inspections on operators of rented buses, tourist transport, and international transport, totaling 15,575 inspections. These inspections are part of a broader initiative to monitor daily operations within the passenger transport sector, reaffirming the RTA’s ongoing commitment to regulating transport services.
Saif Al-Blooshi, Director of Passenger Transport Activities Control at the RTA, stated: “The inspections focused on safety aspects of buses operating in rented, tourist, and international transport sectors, as well as verifying the required licenses. Our inspections are not solely aimed at penalizing violations but are also intended to enhance the quality of services provided and encourage operators to adhere to the regulations governing passenger transport in Dubai. This ultimately ensures the continuity of these services to meet public transport needs and enhances the RTA and Dubai’s reputation in this area.” These inspections were conducted in collaboration with other relevant authorities, including the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (Hatta Border Crossing) and the Dubai Police, to mitigate improper practices associated with these transport modes.
Al-Blooshi added: “The RTA is continuously striving to improve inspection processes by leveraging the latest advancements in technology, analyzing inspection outcomes, and documenting the positive effects of campaigns and monitoring activities. This approach aims to curtail violations and inappropriate behaviors, thereby elevating the overall quality of services provided.”
