The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has launched the “Advanced Leadership” program, targeting a select group of talented Emirati professionals from the second and third tiers. The initiative aims to nurture and prepare them for impactful leadership roles within the institutional framework.
This program underscores RTA’s commitment to realizing the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, in investing in national talents and equipping future generations with the necessary skills and readiness to meet future demands and lead comprehensive development in Dubai.
RTA is dedicated to empowering its employees and developing their capacities to become future leaders who can effectively manage strategic and transformative projects in Dubai, thereby achieving the strategic objectives of the authority and supporting developmental plans across Dubai and the broader UAE.
Currently, the program has 22 participants from the ranks of department directors and deputy directors, who are being evaluated in partnership with global strategic partners specializing in assessing leadership capabilities in a work-simulated environment.
The program reflects RTA’s strategic focus on investing in human capital. It has been designed based on the best global models for developing and implementing leadership pathways, which enhances the quality of training content and provides participants with a unique learning experience.
According to Adhari Mohammed, Executive Director of Human Resources and Development in the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA, “The launch of the ‘Advanced Leadership’ program aligns with the Human Resources Strategy 2025 – 2030, which aims to enhance the readiness of national cadres, improve employee experience, and promote a culture of innovation and diversity within a sustainable and motivating work environment. The program also aims to achieve strategic goals at the level of Dubai and RTA specifically by aligning with global trends in government work and anticipating future changes.”
Adhari added, “The ‘Advanced Leadership’ program includes an intensive training curriculum that spans an entire year, featuring seven modules based on the latest leadership and management techniques, delivered by a distinguished group of trainers in the fields of leadership and innovation. During this program, participants will learn theoretical material on strategic planning, decision-making, self-leadership, and high-performance teams, including change management, sustainability, quality of life, and managing large-scale projects. These modules have been designed to elevate the capabilities of leadership members from the second and third tiers, enabling them to meet future requirements and continue on the path of comprehensive development while enhancing RTA’s standing on various fronts.”
The program focuses on qualifying and developing Emirati leaders from the second and third tiers in the RTA, enabling them to assume high leadership positions within RTA or in Dubai at large. It achieves this by equipping them with the latest and best global practices in leadership skill development through a diverse range of theoretical and practical activities designed to enhance individual capacities and empower participants to lead teams effectively.
