Tesla announced on Thursday that it is initiating a recall of 63,619 Cybertrucks due to a software issue that renders the front parking lights excessively bright, which could interfere with the vision of drivers approaching from the opposite direction.

The company has issued an over-the-air software update to rectify the problem at no cost for Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and October 11, 2025.

The automaker, led by Elon Musk, discovered the issue during an internal assessment conducted earlier this month, where photometric tests verified the lights were indeed too bright.

Tesla also mentioned that no reports of accidents, injuries, or fatalities linked to this issue have been received.

Additionally, on Wednesday, the electric vehicle manufacturer recalled 12,963 Model 3 and Model Y cars due to a defect in a battery-pack component that poses a risk of propulsion loss and increased likelihood of crashes.

Earlier this month, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the launch of an investigation into 2.88 million Tesla vehicles outfitted with the Full Self-Driving system following over 50 reports regarding safety violations and a series of accidents.

On Wednesday, Tesla revealed record revenues for the third quarter that surpassed Wall Street expectations, primarily due to the highest quarterly electric vehicle sales, as US customers rushed to claim a significant tax credit before it lapsed last month.

However, the company’s profits fell short of analysts’ forecasts, partially due to costs related to tariffs and research, as well as a decrease in income from regulatory credits, which are anticipated to decline further due to recent legislation enacted by the Trump administration.

Tesla’s shares dropped 3.3 percent in premarket trading but have increased nearly 9 percent so far this year.
